Khanal urges Poudel and Prachanda to refrain from taking part in Nepal PM fray
July 30, 2010
“If I had participated in the first round of voting I could have with ease garnered 2/3rd votes in the parliament, but I had to withdraw my nomination abiding by the party’s decision”, said Khanal addressing a discussion program in the capital, July 29, 2010.
“I request both Prachanda ji and Ram Chandra ji to withdraw their candidacies and make sacrifices to for the formation a National Unity government”, said Khanal hinting that he by withdrawing his candidacy had exhibited utmost sacrifice for the national cause.
So he has now become a Saint. Jhal Nath Baba has taken incarnation inside the UML.
Others will soon follow suit ultimately transforming the party of the feudal communists in a crowd of saints. Let’s hope so.
Mr. Khanal also opined that the third round of voting scheduled for Monday August 2, 2010 will not be able to elect new prime minister of the country.
So this does mean that his fresh talks with Rakesh Sood and Scot DeLisi have summarily failed.
“The UML can support any candidate who could guarantee national consensus, ensure peace and constitution draft”, said Khanal and added “But, the two candidates must first withdraw their nominations.”
